New reporting system for short selling

In the autumn of 2020, FI will introduce a new reporting system for the reporting of short net positions: the Short Selling Online Reporting tool.

The regulation on short selling and certain aspects of credit default swaps is directly applicable in Sweden. The regulation requires investors to provide notifications to FI of net short positions crossing certain thresholds and FI will on a daily basis publish significant positions in shares, see Short Selling — published net short positions.

Net short positions shall be notified to:

The notification shall be made no later than 15:30 on the trading day after the notifiable position arose.

The notification shall be made by using the notification forms.

If an already submitted notification contains an error, a correction has to be sent to FI, to the same email address. Please use the cancellation form.

The notification shall be sent by e-mail and can if necessary be encrypted by using the encryption standard PGP. When using the PGP encryption, the entire e-mail shall be encrypted and not just the attached files.
